For Hire, a co-production of Poland-based Fumi Games and Australian PlaySide Studios Limited, has managed to arouse great curiosity with its black-and-white cartoon-style visuals and unique gameplay. First known only by the name “Mouse”, the game references classic Mickey Mouse cartoons and attracted attention with the gameplay trailer released yesterday.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire features retro-style black-and-white graphics and a world full of jazz music. The first gameplay video is reminiscent of the nostalgic Steamboat Willie cartoons. But this time we’re dealing with a darker version of Mickey Mouse. In this first-person shooter, players take on the role of a private detective in a noir-style city against the criminal underworld.
The trailer highlights the game’s unique graphics and violent gameplay. Mouse: P.I. For Hire is a first-person shooter. Players can fight against gangsters with a variety of weapons and gain special powers like Popeye’s spinach power.
Mouse: P.I. For Hire’s story follows the challenges a private detective faces in a crime-ridden city. As seen in the trailer, the game is set in a dark atmosphere and the characters are full of irony. The game makers have only announced the PC version of the game, but it is expected to come to consoles next year.
